Devonport Preview & Staking Strategy 2/7/23

What a day we had yesterday, Mr Pineapple nearly tipped the entire Rosehill card, we profited at Flemington, our Pyramid Level 1 Bet won easily as the Pies blew the Suns away and our profitable days just continue to accumulate. Not to mention our AFL Mega Multi missed out because needed the Pies/Suns game total points OVER 162.5 and the game heartbreakingly ended on 162.

DEVONPORT PREVIEW AND STAKING STRATEGY

Back at one of if not my favorite tracks where we have had the most success (remember the day I went 5/5 and collectively our members sent me through over 50k of multibet winning betslips? I’m feeling like we can do that again today!

I’m saving the entire card’s tips for the VIP Members who will get every race + exotics and Quaddie and you can either purchase a single days tips for $10 HERE or become a VIP for a month for $50 HERE or if you;re after a FREE option, you can always make a DABBLE ACCOUNT HERE and you’ll be able to see what I’m betting on throughout the day, if you make an account through this link it shows you all my pending bets. I’ll be posting my best multi for the day + some exotics on Dabble today (Username MrPineappleMVP if you already have an account).

RACE 1 – MAIDEN 1150m

Rubicks Affair has been close in both starts to date going under by half a length each time and deserves to be favourite here, draws a better barrier than last start and I think maps to follow Ians Finale who should lead as Troy Baker has had her up on pace both starts so far. Ians Finale whilst 5th on debut was only 1.5L off Sir Jag and comes into today off the back of two trial wins at this track and I think even from the wide gate will lead and be in it for a long way and should at least place.

Mr Pineapple thinks – 3 Units on Rubicks Affair $2 & 1 Unit on Ians Finale $6

RACE 4 – MAIDEN 1150m

Captain Cam has had all career starts on the synthetic and been thereabouts in every race, simply finding a couple better each time and with excuses. Todays maiden we’ve had a decent amount of exposed form to compare the field and it looks a weaker race with Araya Sunshine the possible improver having her 2nd start and first go on synthetic she looks like the main danger. Anthony Darmanin should find a nice spot just behind the leader or even be more positive today considering Captain Cam has drawn poorly in its previous starts, either way I think today is the day he breaks through. Araya Sunshine won her only trial by over 5L in Hobart and despite finishing 8th was only 3.5L off the winner that day, if she shows improvement as I expect and prefers the synthetic track I think despite probably being wide, she’ll stay out of trouble and get a crack at winning if good enough.

Mr Pineapple thinks – 4 Units on Captain Cam $2.30 & 1 Unit Araya Sunshine $7

RACE 5 – BM60 1150m

I’m very interested in this race because our Alpine Eagle filly we just bought and have gotten AFL players Tom Lynch, Steven May, Dion Prestia and Mav Weller as owners in is a half to Vokes (read about that here), who has a bright start to her career as a 2yo. She starts favourite here today and from barrier 4 should be able to lead and she’s had a trial win to suggest shes come back in good order. I am however a little skeptical looking back at the horses she’s beaten last prep compared to what shes facing today and the $2.80 on offer is a just a little short for me when we’ve got horses like Sistine who werent far behind Jaguar Stone, Muscle Up and Miami Sun last prep, although shes drawn very poorly today thats the knock on her chances. Then we have the older horses in Our Shinkansen who will again be running fast final sectionals and O’Reilly Mcluke who didnt get the clearest run and was only 1.5L behind Quicken Up 1st up who will chasing down Vokes come the straight. Even though i’ll be cheering for Vokes, the price is too short even though I think she gets all the favours here I’ll be betting around her.

Mr Pineapple thinks – 2 Units Sistine $6 & 1 Unit O’Reilly Mcluke $9 & 1 Unit Our Shinkensen $8

First 4 Boxed – 1,4,6,8

RACE 6 – BM64 1350

This is an interesting race because of Barry Cambells new addition Carneros who was last seen running around in BM70’s at Doomben and Eagle Farm, quite a drop in grade to a BM64 at Devonport. He’s won and placed in his two trials here but you dont want to be drawn wide over the 1350m trip at Devonport with the short sprint to the first bend and he’s drawn the carpark in barrier 10. I suspect 2nd up over 1400/1600m will be a better option but he could also just simply be too classy for this field today and you’ll get $8.50 to find out. We backed Katzenjammer last start who was only beaten by a very fast finishing King Island I expect a similar run on pace today will have him being very hard to chase down again however he might again be racing outside the leader, today likely to be Multisanti whos drawn barrier 2 and probably could have beaten Square Donut last start if not for the bad draw/wide run. It will be these two leading come the home turn I’m sure of that. The only other chance I see is Ring of Honour who won its last go at this track/distance from barrier 8 that day, I’m not sure barrier 1 is an advantage because I can see it being shuffled back with some average horses around it holding it up for a run, if it gets clear running though, it can be the one chasing down those leaders in Katzenjammer and Multisanti. My gut says Katzenjammer holds on today but the price of $2.45 compared to the other chances means I’m going to have to bet around it and just include it in my exotic bets.

Mr Pineapple thinks – Multisanti 3 Units $5.50 & Carneros 1.5 Units $$8.50

Boxed Trifecta – 1,3,4,5

RACE 9 – CLASS 1 1650m

Flight Ready is a horse I had blackbooked from the start with its big finishes over the sprint trips catching the eye before breaking through over 1350m here they sent it straight out to 2100m at Hobart which I thought was interesting and I think its obvious at this stage of its prep 1350m-1650m at Devonport is probably where you’ll see his best. I’ve been a fan of Swoop There It Is when it was running on late over shorter trips at Launceston and its going to have to do something similar from barrier 10, I cant have it at $2.80 but its obviously got some admirers or those who think it will go well on Synthetic because all the early money has come for it, being crunched from $4.40 into $2.40 favourite, we’ve missed the price and I think Flight Ready will be ahead of it come the home turn. Moorboozie won over 1350m here last start and won a trial since and gets a more favourable draw but thats the only advantage I think it has on Flight Ready and Swoop who I think can run better times.

Mr Pineapple thinks – 3 units on Flight Ready $5 & First 4 1,2,4/1,2,4/1,2,4/5,9
