A big part of profitable tipping is looking for value which often comes from horses who didn’t win last start and perhaps had bad luck and their performance has flown under the radar. Here are a couple to add to your Blackbook to follow next start!
MR PINEAPPLES BLACKBOOKERS
E’s Spring Stable – 6 Horses to follow wherever they go(suggest backing them in any race they run in. Will keep a four unit win tally on each run they all have over this period, one unit per futures price)
Shinzo
Targets/potential races: Golden Rose, Coolmore, Everest
My main play for the Spring. Loved his Golden Slipper win and even though Slipper winners have a shocking record in the Spring, he can buck this trend. No worries with his first trial, he is incredibly strong and travels so well in his races. Be surprised if he doesn’t start a hot favourite for the Golden Rose. He profiles similar to a Yes Yes Yes type of horse so I’m thinking if he wins the Golden Rose they may have a stab at the Everest with the low weight. If not, the Coolmore looks suitable later in the Spring. Keen to see what he can do as a 3yo.
Amelia’s Jewel
Targets/potential races: Toorak/King Charles, Everest, Golden Eagle, Cox Plate
Happy to back her in any race she runs in for the Spring. Being a WA boy myself, I can’t wait to see her fly the flag for the state and dominate over East. There are no set plans on her prep and she may go to the Cox Plate instead of the Eagle but I’m taking an educated guess and saying she dodges the Cox and stays at the shorter trips. Either way, she is a star and I’m happy to back her wherever she heads.
King Colorado
Targets/potential races: Caulfield Guineas, Spring Champion, Derby
Loved his wins in Queensland last prep and I think he will continue to build this prep. Think he looks a derby horse because he travels so well and toughs it out right through the line. Well bred and has a terrific racing style.
Without A Fight
Targets/potential races: Caulfield Stakes, Underwood, Caulfield Cup, Cox, Melbourne Cup
Was a dramatic late scratching from the Melbourne Cup last year when well fancied due to his overseas credentials. Has made Australia home and made a big mark in the Autumn
Think he can be a star of the Spring, he has a nice turn of foot but does prefer it dry. Think the Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup are logical targets. Have noticed a big move for him for the Cox Plate, which is interesting. Personally, I would have though Cups look more his style
I Am Me
Targets/potential races: Moir, Manikato
Promising up and coming sprinter that can run the hands off the clock. Trial tells me that she has strengthened up considerably and her racing pattern is very attractive. Could well be a horse that jumps through the grades this prep and ends up a group winner. Races this weekend so will know our fate early.
Olentia
Targets/potential races: Unsure
Looks like one of Wallers that could potentially shoot straight to black type and group races. Her trials have been outstanding and she will be back at the races very soon. Think she is one to follow and if I hear any plans of her prep, I’ll add to sheet.
